Bachelor thesis project, HDK-Valand 2022.
The aim of the project was to create a picture book centered around anxiety and depression among children and teenagers. I made the decision to tell a wordless story focusing on emotional and relatable content through illustration, picturing a child balancing on a tightrope. The result is four complete spreads and eight sketches, each representing parts of the character´s journey using metaphors to describe different states of mind. An underlying theme is the relationship between human and nature, manifesting through the main character´s escape from civilization.
